Dive into the Dark
Performance | Activation of the installation Abolition Garden – Chapter V: Intuition Frees Imagination
“Unless, alternatively, we suspend the laws of logic for a moment and consider the possibility that Dana’s journey is not spatiotemporal, but material…” — Denise Ferreira da Silva (Unpayable Debt, 2022)
In Dive into the Dark, I descend into matter.
Shrouded in white fabric, I activate the installation Abolition Garden – Chapter V as one who enters another time — a suspension, a pause.
I do not move through space, but through the density of what has been and still resonates.
The whiteness of my still body absorbs the landscape, the gazes, the soil, the dust — traces of a memory that insists on remaining.
This performance is a ritual of refusal.
I refuse the acceleration of the present. I pause. I contain. I spiral.
Together with the audience, I recreate the image of the triangle.
I listen to the sound of leaves and wind.
I let the materials speak.
I let the body remember.
I let time bend.
It is an abstraction — an immersion in the archive, not as document, but as living presence.
Diving into Darkness is descent. It is suspension.
It is body-matter in deep listening.
