Panel Discussion
The Galerie im Körnerpark invites you to an interdisciplinary panel discussion on the theme of the exhibition Architecture of Hidden Activity – The Physical Dimension of the Digital, featuring representatives from the fields of digital environmental research, philosophy, and sociology—Jens Gröger, Dorothea Winter, and Philipp Staab—in conversation with curator Stephan Klee.
As part of the exhibition’s theme on the materiality of the digital, this panel discussion will explore the expansion of artistic discourse with representatives from academia and research, addressing the digital omnipresence and its far-reaching impact on society and the environment. How does the illusion of digital immateriality arise, given the enormous amount of resources required to sustain it? What landscapes does the digital realm produce? And what happens behind the scenes of technical infrastructures?
A variety of perspectives—ranging from the theoretical implications of the philosophy of digitality to the concrete effects of digital technology on society and the environment—delve deeper into the exhibition’s theme and highlight its complexity.
