Partizipative Dinner-Performance

Canberk Akçal presents Sofra, a participatory dinner performance at the Kreativraum next to Galerie im Körnerpark. Two sessions will take place on Saturday, 1 August, from 3 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Participation is limited to ten people per dinner, and the meal will be vegetarian. The performance will be held in English.

Additionally, on Sunday, August 2, from 4 to 5 pm, there will be a Reading & Gathering, for which no registration is required.

Canberk Akçal’s works deal with communication as both a method and a subject, investigating how relationships are formed, sustained, and transformed through different formats and encounters. Drawing from everyday encounters, urban narratives, personal memories, overheard conversations, cinematic thinking, and fictional speculation, his works explore how people connect with each other and with spaces.
For Kreativraum, Sofra explores objects as conversation starters. Each participant is invited to bring an object, whether personal, nostalgic, or kitsch, which becomes the starting point for a shared dramaturgy unfolding through food and conversation. As a traveling performance and an archive of interconnected objects, Sofra seeks to connect people, create new stories through the sharing of personal histories, and rethink the heritage of festivity and communal experience.
