Juan Pablo Macías – TIEMPO MUERTO
Guided Tour with Angelika Stepken
Curator Angelika Stepken will guide you through the TIMEPO MUERTO exhibition, offering insights into Macías’ complex works that engage with anarchism as a utopia of a world without domination.
Macías combines the radical ideas of modern European anarchists with the practices of indigenous cultures. He will share insights from his discoveries in 2009 at the threatened anarchist Biblioteca Social Reconstruir in Mexico City, as well as about the creation of the TIEMPO MUERTO magazine, which he has curated since 2012 as a platform for anarchist texts and actions from around the world.
The latest issue #7, which will be released alongside the exhibition in Berlin, explores the relationship between anarchism and pagan beliefs. During the tour, all issues of TIEMPO MUERTO will be presented, along with accompanying videos created during his research across continents, celebrating cultures of a world without domination.
The tour will be conducted in German.
