On the occasion of the closing event for the exhibition Architecture of Hidden Activity – The Physical Dimension of the Digital, curators Marie Rief and Silja Yvette will introduce the works on display.
They will offer insights into the background of the exhibition: Where does the digital actually intersect with the physical world? How does the illusion of digital immateriality arise? The curators will discuss how the exhibited works translate the invisible background processes and consequences—into glass, photography, film, sculpture, and spatial installations. They will demonstrate how material opens up a distinct dimension of experience and examine the cycle of innovation, extraction, processing, use, storage, and disposal.
