Jacqueline Hen – One´s sunset is another one´s sunrise

Jacqueline Hen

As a reference to the sun, which neither rises nor sets and shines even at night, the installation deals with the simultaneity of realities.
At all times and in many cultures the sun played an important role. Not only were explanations sought for the observed phenomena, but at the same time it was always an argument for manifesting certain power relations and ideas of reality. The sun is an ambivalent being, which shows us with its dance the simultaneity of physical/astronomical phenomena and complex emotional relations to our world. For everyone, the sun “rises in the east” yet it moves through the most diverse realities. Sharing one planet, we nevertheless live in very different worlds. The challenge is to appreciate this plurality.
The installation can be seen day and night in Körnerpark in front of the café.
