Malte Kebbel – Light Veins

Veins of light grow on the facade of the Galerie im Körnerpark like vine tendrils, reflecting the heartbeat of Neukölln with pulsating red light and curved aluminum shapes.

The lively district is one of the most culturally rich parts of Berlin. With the site-specific installation Light Veins, artist Malte Kebbel brings the pulsating buzz of the streets to Körnerpark in form of a “light heartbeat”. In the middle of Neukölln, the park invites you to escape the hectic everyday life for a few moments.

The installation imitates the natural growth direction of the vines on the facade and transforms them into red flowing lines of light that reflect the fast pace of our society.

During the day, Light Veins blends into the formal aesthetic of the facade. After dark, the solidified form transforms into a dynamic flow of light that unfolds from 4 to 10 pm.

Lightinstallation from December 15, 2022 to March 3, 2023
