Curators talk with Antonina Stebur and Liza Michalchuk

The carousel starts up again

A conversation with Belarusian curators Antonina Stebur and Liza Michalchuk as they explore the evolving landscape of Belarusian art and curatorial practice through the lenses of migration, refuge, and decolonial practices. This discussion will explore the critical choices facing Belarusian artists and curators today: Should obediently integrate into the Western European framework of contemporary art? Can they acquiesce in this hierarchical power structure, or are there structure, or are there alternative tactics that foster more dialogical
horizontal relationships with the system?
Antonina Stebur and Liza Michalchuk will also explore the potential for translocal solidarities and the transformative prospects for the concept of contemporary art itself, questioning and redefining what art practices might look like in this changing context.

The talk will be held in English.
