We warmly invite you to the finissage with a collective reading circle in the context of the exhibition Juan Pablo Macías – TIEMPO MUERTO.

Curator Angelika Stepken and artist Juan Pablo Macías will discuss selected writings and texts related to the magazine TIEMPO MUERTO #7, which was specifically produced for the exhibition. This discussion will address research on the artist’s anarchist practice, embodying a critique of representation within the context of art and being central to his practice-oriented engagement. This goes beyond conventional grammars and opens up new perspectives.

The latest issue of TIEMPO MUERTO #7, published in conjunction with the exhibition in Berlin in Bulgarian, English, and German, gathers a selection of texts on the relationship between anarchism and paganism, particularly concerning the Thracian god Sabazios/Dionysus. These themes reflect the profound connections between mythology and political practice, which play an important role in Macías’ work.

The event will be conducted in English and German.
